Ouranoco Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Ouranoco (‘Ouranoco’, ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’) accesses, collects, stores, uses, and/or shares (‘processes’) your personal information when you download and use any of our apps, or engage with us in other related ways including any sales, marketing, or events (together, our ‘Services’).

This is our company-wide policy: it sets out the commitments, legal bases, and rights common to every Ouranoco app. Each app also has its own privacy notice covering exactly what that app collects, where it goes, who processes it, and how long it is kept. Read this policy together with the notice for the app you use. Where the two conflict, the app-specific notice governs for that app.

1. Who We Are and What This Policy Covers

Ouranoco Ltd (‘Ouranoco’) is a company registered in England and Wales under company number 17142394, with its registered address at 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We produce mobile applications, and we operate from the United Kingdom.

For the personal information described in this policy and in our app-specific notices, Ouranoco is the data controller — we are responsible for deciding how and why that information is processed. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under registration reference ZC124211.

This policy applies to every Ouranoco app, and to any future app that links to it. It tells you what is true across all our apps; your app’s notice tells you what is true only of that app. Neither is complete on its own.

Some of our apps are designed so that no personal information reaches Ouranoco at all. Where that is the case, the app’s notice says so, and the parts of this policy describing our handling of data on our servers will not apply to you.

2. Our Privacy Commitments

These commitments apply to every Ouranoco app, without exception.

Some of our apps record a small amount of first-party operational data — for example, aggregate counts used to understand engagement or to enforce fair usage limits on a paid third-party API. This is not third-party tracking, it is never sold or shared for marketing, and where it happens it is set out in full in the relevant app’s notice.

3. What Information Do We Collect?

This varies significantly by app — from nothing at all on our servers, to a small account record. The definitive inventory for your app is in its own notice. Across our Services as a whole, the categories we may process are:

We do not process special category data as defined by the UK GDPR and GDPR, and we do not receive personal information about you from third-party data sources. Where an app retrieves information from your employer’s systems, it does so at your instruction and using your own credentials.

4. How Do We Process Your Information?

Only to provide, maintain, secure, and support the app you are using. Specifically:

We will not use your personal information for a materially new purpose without first informing you and, where required, obtaining your consent.

The GDPR and UK GDPR require us to explain the valid legal bases we rely on. We may rely on:

Each app’s notice explains which basis applies to which processing. Where an app stores data only on your device and transmits nothing to us, these bases apply only to that local processing.

6. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?

Never with the parties listed in our commitments, and never with any third party not named in your app’s notice.

Service providers. Some of our apps rely on a small number of named providers (for authentication, account storage, or route calculation, for example) that process personal information on our behalf under contract, only on our instructions. Each app’s notice names them in full, with the specific data each receives and why. Some of our apps use no service providers at all.

Services you connect to directly. Several of our apps help you connect to systems operated by your employer or another provider, using your own credentials. The connection is between your device and that system; those organisations are independent controllers governed by their own privacy policies, and we have no visibility into or control over how they process your information.

Legal and business transfers. We may disclose your personal information where legally required to comply with applicable law, a governmental request, a judicial proceeding, a court order, or legal process, or where necessary to protect our rights or the rights and safety of others. We may also transfer your information in connection with a merger, sale of assets, financing, or acquisition of all or part of our business. If that happens, we will notify you, and this policy will continue to apply until it is superseded.

7. Is Your Information Transferred Internationally?

Ouranoco is established in the United Kingdom, and your personal information is controlled from there.

For apps that store your data exclusively on your own device, or that connect you directly to your employer’s systems, no transfer of your personal information to Ouranoco takes place at all.

For apps that use server infrastructure or third-party service providers, those providers may process or store personal information outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. Where that occurs, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognised under the UK GDPR and GDPR — adequacy regulations, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or Standard Contractual Clauses — so your information continues to receive an equivalent standard of protection.

8. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.

Because much of the data our apps handle is stored on your own device or in your own iCloud account, its retention is under your direct control — you can delete it in-app or by deleting the app. Where we do hold information on our servers, we retain it while you maintain your account or record with us, and delete or anonymise it from our active databases when you ask us to or when it is no longer needed. Some information may persist in backup archives for a limited period, securely isolated from further processing until deletion is possible.

Per-data-type retention tables are in each app’s notice.

9. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?

We have implemented appropriate technical and organisational security measures to protect the personal information we process. Across all of our apps, this baseline includes:

Individual apps apply further protections, described in their notices. This baseline is not repeated there; assume it applies unless an app’s notice says otherwise.

However, no electronic transmission or storage technology can be guaranteed 100% secure, so we cannot promise that unauthorised third parties will never defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. Access the Services only within a secure environment, and protect your device and any linked accounts with a strong passcode and two-factor authentication.

10. Do We Collect Information from Children?

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. Our apps are professional tools intended for airline crew. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to their use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from a user under 18 has been collected, we will deactivate any associated account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete the data. If you become aware of any data we may have collected from a child under 18, contact us at privacy@ouranoco.com.

11. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

In some regions (such as the EEA, UK, and Switzerland) you have certain rights under applicable data protection laws. These may include the right (i) to request access and obtain a copy of your personal information, (ii) to request rectification or erasure, (iii) to restrict processing, (iv) if applicable, to data portability, and (v) not to be subject to automated decision-making. In certain circumstances you may also have the right to object to processing. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.

Making a request. Email privacy@ouranoco.com, telling us which app you use so we can identify what — if anything — we hold. We will act upon any request in accordance with applicable data protection laws, and respond within one month of receipt.

Exercising your rights directly. For several of our apps, your data is stored on your own device or in your own iCloud account rather than on our servers. In those cases you can exercise most of these rights yourself, immediately, without contacting us — your app’s notice explains how. Where we hold no information about you at all, there is nothing for you to request from us.

Withdrawing your consent. Where we rely on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time by contacting us at privacy@ouranoco.com or, for apps that store data locally, by deleting the app and its associated data. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out beforehand, nor processing conducted on lawful grounds other than consent.

Complaints. If you are in the EEA or UK and believe we are unlawfully processing your personal information, you have the right to complain to your Member State data protection authority or the UK data protection authority. If you are in Switzerland, you may contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner.

12. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and applications include a Do-Not-Track (‘DNT’) feature you can activate to signal that you do not want your online browsing activities monitored. No uniform standard for recognising and implementing DNT signals has been finalised, so we do not currently respond to DNT signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates a choice not to be tracked online. If a standard is adopted that we must follow, we will say so in a revised version of this policy.

In practice, no Ouranoco app tracks your online browsing activities, and none use advertising or third-party tracking technologies.

13. Do We Make Updates to This Notice?

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time; the updated version will be indicated by a revised ‘Last updated’ date above. If we make material changes, we may notify you by prominently posting a notice of the changes or by sending you a notification directly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

App-specific notices carry their own ‘Last updated’ dates and may be revised independently of this policy.
